Story
This mixtape has as story to it. In the Ironman comics Kathleen Dare was one of Tony Starks’ lovers. She was obsessed with him, and even claimed they were in a relationship when they weren’t. One day she became jealous because she thought he was with another woman. When Ironman enters his home, Kathy Dare is waiting for him. She shoots him down leaving him to die, and says a final goodbye. The bullet went through his chest and hit his spine, causing him to become paralyzed.Tony wouldn’t take this for an answer and decided to create a biochip to help him regain mobility.
For me Kathleen Dare was an ex girlfriend of mine, except she didn’t obsess over me. Rather we obsessed over each other. The shooting is a metaphor for her abrupt break up with me.Instead of leaving me paralyzed physically, she paralyzed me emotionally. This led to maladaptive responses, not only did I have trouble trying to figure out who I was, I also had trouble dealing with why it happened, and problems with women in general. The mixtape goes from my state of depression to the highlight of my life, and even touches bases on other women. In the process, the “biochip” that helped me regain mobility was music. Along with music and surrounding myself with good people, I became the person you now see today.
This mixtape is not about crying over a woman, but rather the process of healing.
Its proof that at the end of the day, who you are as a person, should never be destroyed.Everyone has qualities that make them unique, and no matter what life throws at you, it shouldn’t be altered. This mixtape is not your average mixtape because it more a piece of art. From the beats to the storyline everything has a purpose to it. WeS The Ironman and Artistic Syndicate, along with Street Souljaz Family, are trying to revive the creativity and lyricism that Hip-Hop now lacks.
Thank You
First I want to give thanks to Our Creator for blessing me with so many opportunities, and surrounding me with not only good family, but also great friends. Next of course are my parents, I have way too much to thank you guys for and I appreciate all the opportunites you allowed me, I promise one day it will be re-payed.Up next is my Big Brother X, the person who saw the same vision as me with this project, and made it come true with late night sessions straight after work.I’m glad you helped me make this a work of art. This whole process was an experience and next time I’ll know never set a deadline without having all the material HAHA. S.S.F all day SALUTE! Much love and respect. Of course after him comes Syn who helped create a whole new WeS…one that’s more arrogant. Not only for that but also for contributing two dope verses, and letting us record at his crib for the first few songs. Familly Hommie! If it wasn’t for Ace, truth be told I probably wouldn’t be a rapper anymore, I didn’t want to do a solo project, but I felt obligated to while you were in WV…I wanted to keep the ball moving, now we’re about to move mountains. Not having my right hand man around felt weird for a while but I’m glad your back! ARTISTIC SYNDICATE CHEA! Much Thanks To Krystle Jade for not only supporting this project by laying down unexpected vocals after about an hour of convincing lol, but also for letting us record in her closet, and letting this become completed. Also thanks to your Roomates who put up with the loud noise, and not only let us record, but supported it.Much love to my sister Jess Wonson who helped keep me sane and always smiling in my worst of times. You loved everything I showed you off the tape, always bragged about my freestyles to everyone in Cammy, helped me with my women problems, and I always will appreciate your support.Big up to my Bro Danny Da Dk, who along with El Mike took me out almost every weekend I was in Fitchburg during college. Good times at the house of pleasure haha! You were the closest brother I had during my time of need.I’ll always be in debt to you for that. Thanks to all my UML people for the support (George Philos especially). Thanks to Richie Bryan for listening before the project was done and being one of my dopest Lowell brothers. Big Ups to Thiago Silva aka TX for mixing down Destined for Greatness the first time, sorry everything didn’t work out as planned, but the project is still here, and I’m glad you support it! Thank you to anyone who has supported or listened to the mixtape, without your support I’m no one. Lastly I want to give thanks to Kathleen Dare…You not only thought me how to love, but how to also love myself. You showed me everything that I want out of life, and helped me get on the right path, thank you for being my angel when my times were rough. I’ll always have love for you, thank you for what you did. PCE (If I Forgot You I’m sorry, and still got love for you)
